上周英国大选尘埃落定之后，本周无协议脱欧的威胁重现，英镑已悉数回吐了自上周大选的出口民调预测保守党获得多数地位以来的所有涨幅，而英国股票下跌了逾1%。
担忧情绪重燃主要是因为英国首相鲍里斯·约翰逊采取行动修改法律、明确规定英国脱欧过渡期不会延续到后年之后。如果过渡期期间没有达成新的协议，那么英国将会硬脱欧。
如果英国能在2020年1月31日顺利脱欧，英欧双方将进入脱欧后的过渡期。期间，英国名义上脱离欧盟，但在其他所有方面仍然享受欧盟成员国待遇。在这段时间内，英欧双方将努力达成新的贸易协定。
周二纽约时段，美国方面公布的经济数据显示，美国11月新屋开工和营建许可数据表现均超出预期，良好的美国房市数据给金价带来压力。
具体数据显示，美国11月营建许可月率实际公布1.40%，预期-2.9%，前值5%；美国11月新屋开工年化月率实际公布3.20%，预期2.3%，前值3.8%。
据报道，意大利巴里银行近日曝出资金缺口巨大并陷入严重危机。上周末，意大利央行已开始接管该银行。意大利政府内阁最终批准向巴里银行注资9亿欧元。
美国越来越多代表激烈选区的民主党议员16日“赌上政治前途”，表态支持弹劾总统特朗普。
众议院订18日或投票表决两项弹劾条款，并可能最快在23日宣布弹劾检控团队成员名单，计划于2020年1月交由参院审理。
目前，美国国会两党正在就开支法案进行最后的协商，法案必须在12月20日之前通过，以避免联邦政府关门。据知情国会助手说，众议院民主党人正试图在1.4万亿元的开支法案中增加几项医疗保健规定。
