上影线是指每根K线上方的线，实际上它是由这段时间内K线的收盘价和最高价的差所形成，也就是说上影线越长，多头遇到的上攻阻力就越大，行情为金价上涨乏力，反之上影线越短，金价于该时间段则为明显的单边上涨行情，反映出多头占据盘面的更多优势。带有上影线的K线形态，也有阳线上影线，阴线上影线、十字星上影线之分，但共同点在于上影线都是反映多头的支撑力度大小，而上影线长度，与多头支撑力度则呈负相关。
下影线是指每根K线下方的线，它是由这段时间内K线的收盘价和最低价的差所形成，也就是说下影线越长，空头遇到的下挫阻力就越大，行情为金价低位筑底，反之下影线越短，金价于该时间段则为明显的单边下跌行情，反映出空头占据盘面的更多优势。带有下影线的K线形态，也有阳线下影线、阴线下影线、十字星下影线之分，共同点为下影线反映的是空头的下挫力度大小，其下影线长度和空头下挫力度也是呈负相关的。
